Saturday 28th January 2012. Meet at 11.00am at Black Pool Car Park
Camilla has very kindly offered to kick off the 2012 Escorted rides, with a difference!
Mortimers Forest is based near Ludlow and is a beautiful area to ride in. It is a remnant of the ancient Saxon hunting forests of Mocktree, Deerfold and Bringewood.
The proximity of Ludlow has strongly influenced this Forest. It was these woods that provided the huge quantity of firewood needed to warm the inhabitants of Ludlow Castle.
The landscape of the Forest is dominated by limestone ridges. The moderate height of the forest provides magnificent views in clear weather.
It starts from the Black Pool Car Park, Mortimer Forest, off the B4361 Ludlow to Bishop’s Castle road SY8 4DZ, OS Grid Ref. SO497717.
Camilla will be there at 11am and will open the height restriction barrier. As you come into the car park you need to bear right and follow the car park to the far end where there is horse box parking. This is on a hard surface.
To book your place or to get more information please contact Camilla on 07974 751899. There will be a voluntary charge for this ride, of around £3.00
